Entrepreneurs and Local Authorities
After and email rany I decided I should try to say something in this subject.
The background is that over the last 25 years I have known or got to know many young guys who have left school with no qualifications but who have went on to get out of the poverty they and there families were in.
These young guys left school and got themselves jobs.Where the would work hard and learn after a while they became fed up being wage slaves and decided they could have a go themselves.This was a shift from there fathers generation where men were mostly happy just to have a job and take the wages and where there were low expectations about there place in society.Some of them I just call money magnets because of the way they seem to be able to sniff out a shilling.But they do not seem to be charactirized by greed in fact just the opposite.There is a sort of unwritten rule that if one of us needs something the other will give it if they can.Im not tryting to make this sound more romantic than it is because these boys do what they have to but there does seem to be a common bond.
I once needed around 10 grand for a deal I was doing and the bank was late with the money one of the guys came over and gave me a blank cheque and told me to let him know how much I used and to pay him back when I got it.Would you find that level of trust in your church?
The thing most of these guys have in common outside hard work is that they have never recieved any state help and they would probabliy not want it.Which means they have done it despite the help of local and national goverment.When I look at them I feel inspired not because they have become super wealthy because most of them have not but because they have done it for themselves and for most of them the motivation has now become there families.I sometimes look at people with great skills in jobs where people who would not be able to lace there boots telling them what do do and I feel frustrated that I dont have any means of encouraging them to go for it on there own.
